Happy Birthday Jacob!

Although Jacob's birthday isn't until July, we had a PARTY for him today! Who can say "NO" to a birthday celebration? Mrs. Slabonik came in with Phillies treats and FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE! Nothing says "HELLO SUMMER" than the Phillies and Lemonade.

Mrs. Slabonik helped each student create their own Lemonade!

The Birthday Boy!

YUM!

Everyone enjoyed their snack!

A shout-out to GABRIEL MELLETTE! I had promised if he finished his Pippi Longstocking book, that we would watch the movie. So today before Jacob's party, we all kicked back and watched it. GOOD WORK GABRIEL! (and to all of the third graders- a LOT of good books were read this year!)

The Slaboniks also provided Phils paddle balls for the students.

Lots of bouncin going on....

Happy Birthday Jacob!

We are so very thankful that God brought you to LCCS.  You have added a lot of fun to our class and we look foward to seeing you next year in 4th grade!

Last FULL day!

Johnny
"One day was really sad because we found out that Steven was going to another school. We had a good-bye party for him. But one day was really happy because Jacob came to our class. He is really funny and my best friend. On our field trip the the Herrs' chip factory and we met the other third grade class. We found out the only thing they still pack by hand, is pretzels."

Kelly
"In 3rd grade we had lots of memories this year. In the beginning of the year we took care of chicks, learned the books of the bible, learned multiplication, and a little bit of division. We made lots of friends and had a great time.  Towards the end of the end of the year, we had a lot of field trips. We also had a lot of parties like an Easter party, Christmas party,Valentines party, and birthday parties. We had a great time!

Jacob
"I loved this school year because we have had a great teacher. I also loved it because I made good friends. I liked the science factory field trip the most."

2 1/2 days left!!

Zac

"This was the best school year ever! This year we did something called 'Rocketmath'. We would work on our math with timed tests. I started on M on addition, A on subtraction, G on multiplication, and A on division. We also had 'Book-It' where we had to read a certain goal for the month and you could get a free personal pizza!"

Jessica

"I'm sure going to miss third grade especially, Mrs. Herr. I really like school. I liked doing the skits. The boys did 'The Pig Who Cried Wolf' and the girls did 'The Frog Prince'. They were a lot of fun and I wish we could do them again."

Stephanie

" In math, we did addition, subraction, multiplication and division. Mrs. Herr made all of our activities fun. We did Race for Education on April 5th. While we were running, our names were pulled out of a hat and we could go to the middle for a prize. At the end of the race, we could talk into the microphone and say things like 'Third grade is the BEST!' "

Our LAST WEEK of school!

The students are working on writing reflections about 3rd grade this week. Each day, three students will write a couple of sentences from their paper to share about their experience in third grade. Enjoy!

Janae
"We've had a really fun year that I will miss a lot. First of all, we had a teacher that is out of this world. She was the best teacher I've ever had. Next, field trips were awesome for me. We've had so much fun on them and even got wet a few times. For example, my top two favorite field trips were the Tabernacle and Mrs. Herr's parents' house."

Anna
"We had chicks a couple of months ago. Nobody took them so I did. We couldn't have them in our neighborhood. We gave them to some friends to keep on their farm, but they died in the winter. It was really fun to take care of them."

Gabriel
"Mrs.Herr is one of the best teachers in the world! I had a great school year! My favorite project was the taking care of the chicks. I liked to sing the "Arkeology" songs and learn new ones in Mrs. Herr's class. My favorite one is the C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N song."

Miss Mosebach

This morning we had a special treat with Miss Mosebach (LONG JOHNS!!).  She has been our teachers' aide this year and has been a huge help! The students wrote notes to her and we spent some time talking about her future plans.

She is headed to Denver, CO in the fall with YWAM (Youth with a Mission). She will spend a couple of months there training and then will be sent to a country to be a missionary. We are excited for her and had a time of prayer as she ends her years at LCCS. Thanks Miss Mosebach for ALL of your help this year and congratulations on graduating!!

Thank you SO MUCH!

Thank you to everyone- parents and students- who made my birthday SO special! Here are some pictures from the party! I LOVE my beach basket! That was extremely thoughtful and so very generous! THANK YOU!

The students had a VERY SPECIAL time of prayer. I think it was my favorite birthday gift. :-)

And of course, my wonderful birthday buddies, teachers and friends- Mrs. Horst and Mrs. Mellette!

Mrs. Horst did some special decorating!!!
THANKS!

Thankful for another year of life! Looking forward to what God has ahead!
