Math is fun. If we obey we will get money. We sang a rap with the books of the Bible. Mario (Steven's toy) came to school. Mrs. Miller came to class to teach us about writing. The concert is coming soon.

~Special Visitors~
This week we had THREE very special visitors come to our class. The first one was MOLLY!! She was in the students' second grade class last year and had to move to Delaware halfway through the year. She stopped in to say hi!
The students were SUPER excited to see her and were acting really goofy!
Later in the day, two more special visitors stopped by. My twin nieces Riley and Sophie! They brought us pumpkin whoopie pies and played with us!
Riley and Sophie LOVE to have stories read to them. Some of the students practiced their reading skills and had them captivated with stories!
We love having visitors come to see us!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
The story of Noah...In SPANISH!!!
A couple of weeks ago (while we were studying the story of Noah), one of the high school Spanish classes came to read to our class!
They had created books on the story of Noah and read them to us.
It was ALL in Spanish!! :-)
It was fun because the third graders have Spanish class this year, so they knew a couple of the words, as well as learned some new ones.
What a cool thing to hear the same story in a different language!
Our God is SO BIG!
Thanks to the high schoolers for their hard work and for taking the time to read to our class!
Muchas Gracias!

Janae's Post
On Tuesday in gym we played octopus and fireball. In fireball, we were kicking balls in the lobby and some even ended up in the bathroom! In Social Studies, we learned a little more about the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches. We also did a fill in the blank activity on the Constitution. We learned the letters "i" and "t" in cursive during Handwriting. We also were talking about Abram, Lot, and Sarai in Bible. We learned about Abram's obedience, so we made door hangers with glitter glue, foam stickers, and markers. They say "OBEY" so that it would remind us to obey God even when we don't feel like it.

The Books of the Bible!
Third graders,
I wanted to let you know that I DID try and load the video of our song of the "Books of the Bible". It did not work, but I will try it again tomorrow at school and we can watch it in class!
SORRY!!
That just means you can sing it IN PERSON to your parents tonight! :-)

Our Towers of Babel
This week in Bible class, we are learning about the Tower of Babel in Genesis. Yesterday, we read the story in class and talked about how the people were trying to become famous and known for a tower that would reach to the heavens. More importantly, this became an idol which took away from the GLORY that God deserved. We also talked about different idols that we have in our lives. For example, silly bandz, friends, books and money.
Following that discussion, the students each received a card with a name or number on it in a different language. The students had to find their match by only saying the word on their card. It gave us a little picture of how confusing it must have been when God decided to bring in all the different languages.
Today, the students had the opportunity to work together to build a Tower of Babel. We used peanut butter and graham crackers. Halfway through, the students could only say the word which was on thier card from yesterday. It caused some confusion and frustration since they could not communicate. Here are some fun pictures!
The girls deciding on a strategy.
If a student was caught talking normally, they had to sit out for three minutes. Many students had to, but I caught Stephanie with a sad look. :-(
The boys speaking in their different languages.
Many hands make the job easier!

The students did a great job on their towers. They even had the chance to eat a little bit. :-) Now lets hope we can remember the important details!
GOD GETS THE GLORY!!
God's purpose: To make Himself famous so that people everywhere will worship HIM!
Also, today was a RAINY Thursday so our recess was inside. Thanks to MRS.MELLETTE, we had a new Veggie Tales movie to watch. I thought they all looked so cozy all bundled up on the "beach". What a blessing to have a warm, dry school.
Have a great night!!
Zac's Post
Blog update: We had gym on Tuesday. We played a game which there were two teams. One team would go all over the gym and one team would try to get from one side of the gym to the other and back without being hit by a ball. The people throwing the balls had to be in a hoop when they threw it. IT WAS AWESOME!!

Our Philadelphia Trip!
I'm sorry this has taken me so long! Here are some fun picutres from our trip to Philadelphia!
This was in the girls' car on the way!
(Stephanie is hiding behind Kelly's seat)
There were carriages all along the streets of Philadelphia. All the students wanted to take a ride!
Unfortunately, Independence Hall was under construction (on the top), but here is a view from the bottom.
Pictured below are our lovely third graders waiting patiently in line for our Independence Hall tour.
And some more patient people. This was before Zac took a good fall off the chain! Oops!
Three amigos!
Here is a picture of the Constitutional Convention. Each of our third graders is doing a project on one of the delegates. It was fun for them to be able to connect their delegate with the picture and experience the history of Independence Hall.
This is George Washington's actual chair from the convention. Many of the other artifacts were from around that time period, but this was his real chair! How cool was that for us to see where this actually happened after learning about it in school?
Below is the room where the delegates signed the Constitution.
We found a very entertaining tour guide in one of the rooms who captivated us with her stories and answered Mr. Heck's questions about the movie "National Treasure".
Sometimes we got a little tired throughout our big day!
Our last stop was the Liberty Bell!
Our third graders. What troopers!
Zac and Kelly with their grandma.
And sometimes we were goofy too.
We did a LOT of walking!
Overall, we had a GREAT day in Philadelphia.
Is that George Washington?
:-)
