I'm sorry this has taken me so long! Here are some fun picutres from our trip to Philadelphia!
This was in the girls' car on the way!
(Stephanie is hiding behind Kelly's seat)
There were carriages all along the streets of Philadelphia. All the students wanted to take a ride!
Unfortunately, Independence Hall was under construction (on the top), but here is a view from the bottom.
Pictured below are our lovely third graders waiting patiently in line for our Independence Hall tour.
And some more patient people. This was before Zac took a good fall off the chain! Oops!
Three amigos!
Here is a picture of the Constitutional Convention. Each of our third graders is doing a project on one of the delegates. It was fun for them to be able to connect their delegate with the picture and experience the history of Independence Hall.
This is George Washington's actual chair from the convention. Many of the other artifacts were from around that time period, but this was his real chair! How cool was that for us to see where this actually happened after learning about it in school?
Below is the room where the delegates signed the Constitution.
We found a very entertaining tour guide in one of the rooms who captivated us with her stories and answered Mr. Heck's questions about the movie "National Treasure".
Sometimes we got a little tired throughout our big day!
Our last stop was the Liberty Bell!
Our third graders. What troopers!
Zac and Kelly with their grandma.
And sometimes we were goofy too.
We did a LOT of walking!
Overall, we had a GREAT day in Philadelphia.
Is that George Washington?
:-)
