Last week, our story for the week was called Urban Roosts. We have been learning about different kinds of wildlife which can be found in the city. Urban Roosts discussed the many different places where birds' nests can be found. We talked about what kinds of things birds use to make their nests such as sticks, trash, shoelaces and even candy wrappers. We decided it would be a good idea to make our own. :-)
First, we melted chocolate and peanut butter chips for the base to hold our nest together.
Next we added frosted flakes, which made our nests look like they were made up of a lot of different items.
Then, we found a nice place for our nests to form using tin foil and a muffin pan.
We poured our nests into their little homes.
Lastly, we added our eggs and let the nests harden. They tasted DELICIOUS!
