On Friday, we had our field trip to the Tabernacle. After learning about it in class, the students really enjoyed seeing it from a different perspective and hearing more details and history from our tour guide!
We started with lunch at Arby's! Here are the boys!
And some of the girls!
I do have to mention that a woman came up to me and told me, "Your students are so well behaved. That is so neat to see!"
PROPS to YOU parents! Your children ARE WONDERFUL!!
There was a lot of this......
Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Slabonik came along with us. Thanks for joining us!
Here we are listening to our tour guide. The third graders did a GREAT JOB listening and being respectful while he was talking.
A mural on the wall of the tabernacle and the Israelite camp around it.
In the courtyard- The Brazen Altar was where the people came to offer sacrifices to God. It had to be a PURE, SPOTLESS animal and they sprinkled the blood as a way to "cover up their sins".
What a neat parallel to the story of OUR SALVATION. God, sent His PURE, SPOTLESS, ONLY SON to die as OUR SACRIFICE. And His blood did not only cover up our sins, but WASHED THEM AWAY.
GOD IS SO GOOD.
The Brazen Altar- Where the priests would wash their hands and feet before entering the Holy Place.
I could not get pictures INSIDE, but I took a pictre of the model.
We are still working on the meaning of the rest of the items in OUR Tabernacle, so I will give more details on those later. It was a lot of fun to see it in a BIGGER picture. I will post our model as soon as we finish.
Thanks for making it a wonderful trip!
